Our upcoming Quest article is “Event Lighting at Night”.

At Society events, night can have its own magic; darkness masks many a 21st
C silhouette and pushes the modern world even further away. Torchlight
tourneys are a beloved tradition and the flicker of flames from campfire
and lantern casts a more timeless glow on faces, clothes and gear. But in
this day and age where live flame is highly restricted at many a venue and
sometimes forbidden entirely, how do you provide safe and sufficient
lighting at nighttime and observe site rules without losing that Society
period feel? Share your knowledge (in 300 words or less); send your best
suggestions to tieditor at sca.org and they may be included in the 3rd Quarter
2019 issue of *Tournaments Illuminated. *If you would like to share
a photo, write and ask for image specifics.
