  This newbie has two options... the Barony of Loch Soilleir has some extremely helpful people who could get this person started.  They have a sewing guild that could start 'em on garb, and a few events are coming up in the near future that would aquaint a newbie with many aspects of our society.
   A little farther to the north, the Barony of the StarGate and their canton Westgate have a newcomers guild that holds meetings and discusses/works on such projects as garb, feast gear, SCA 101, etc.  I believe Baroness Hillary Greenslade hosts these get-togethers.  Her name and number should be readily available in the _BlackStar_ as Seneschal of Westgate.
