[SNIPPED! Dieter's description of Boffer Tourney's for Children as a draw for SCA membership}

What a wonderful idea!!!  This would be exciting for the parents as well as the kids! And of course, the more of 
the family you draw into the activity, the more you will see them!

I remember when I first started playing in Meridies, our "group of newbies" were introduced to boffer swords! 
 We went home form that event and started making boffer weapons! We were so excited and looking 
forward to the next event... we couldn't wait!

Now, that energy is turned to the heavy weapons... but the idea is still sound!  Boffer should be used as
an introduction to SCA combat (chivalric or rapier)!!

I'll sign whatever you offer, Dieter, if it moves this concept forward!!
