I regret that I don't recognize your name, so I don't know how long you have shared the Dream or in what way. So I begin by apologizing in advance. I have not traveled much in recent years, so you may not know my name either. I have lived in the Steppes for all of the almost 25 years that I have been participating, While Alden's presentation may have lacked grace, the underlying sentiments are absolutely correct. I believe the point he was trying to make is that the principles of the Dream as he and I known them are slipping away before our eyes. This makes me very sad. I realize that these changes are a result of our changing mundane society, but to my mind that is the very reason we need to bring the principles of honour, chivalry and courtesy back into the forefront of everything we do in the historical society we choose to participate in. I seldom see Knights paying 'reverance' to any lady of lower rank as they pass by. I am disgusted by the Peers disrespect of the Crown during Court by gathering at the back of the hall and chatting while Court is in progress. I am saddened by Laurels who feel that perfection is the standard, and berating new artisans who 'don't measure up'. I could go on, but I think you get the gist of what I have to say. And I think that is the point that Alden was trying to make. Again, I apologize if I have offended you, as that is not my intent. I welcome any comments you may wish to share with me. After all a province if I understand correctly is still crown lands. As for t-tunics and heraldry and such, I gotta ask-have you ever interacted with these folks? Or are you just popping off....again? The folks I see from up there dress very well, put alot of work into many aspects of the game. Oh but wait they dont share your view so they are wrong. Do they throw parties? Some damn good ones, what of it? I really think you should reconsider this blast you have fired and calm down some. But what do I know after all I have not been around quite as long as you.
