Dear folks Blow calling is always an iffy problem. His Grace Duke Jonathan has research this. He found that many kingdom wear more armor than we do and they judge a blow by how it hits not how it feels. They also judge it by the way it sounds. Because of this the same fighter may throw well placed light blow and have it taken and may throw a blow with power and have it not taken. When we had our Second War with the middle the Middle fighters did not believe a hammer shot from the shoulder could be good. King Lloyd called out and delivered a blow from the shoulder that cut a 3 inch grove in my shield. That was the end of that misconception. Ansteorra wears less armor and we judge by feel. We will ignore shots that "look" good, but have no impact. Many fighters do not know how to deliver good power shots. I am one of those fighters. I deliver beautiful placed tickle shots. When I am at Pennic because the heavily armor fighters just look at the shot and take it. In Ansteorra I just wake people up and they kill me. Also Trimiris has changed how they throw a blow. To be successful at Pennic they had to start throwing harder blows. This was over 12 years ago. The kingdom we have the War in now throws harder than Meridis. They believe like we do that true skill involves delivering a blow with impact. Not break bones impact, but something that gets your attention. I have a strange claim to fame. I probable have been hit by more knights from different kingdoms than any of you. Remember I tickle people then they smash me saying, "Bad Bunny" I have been thrown five feet. I have been slammed into the ground. I have been hit by Duke Koris, Vicount Randale, Duke Lloyd and my husband Duke Jonathan when they wanted me to understand what a killing blow was. I have been repeatedly hit by Duke Inman who showed me respect and hit me like a man. In all that time I have not been really hurt and I can say most knight hit in same general range. They make you know you are dead. You don't have to think about it. You just fall down. If I had a criticism about the Anstoerra fighter is to many cannot deliver a good blow and they get mad at you and then go overboard or they fuss about you. In the past we took pride in being able to deliver blows of increasing power and we were able to control our shots. Duchess Willow de Wisp, fighting for 35 years
