Master Tivar 's note was great. Copy it and save it, put it in the Wisdom of the ages folder. I want  to comment Master Tivar is not just an Old SCAer he is an Ancient SCAer. He was one of the people who organized the Glory Days. He knows how we did it.
Little hints.
Display your group's banner at your campsite. Introduce yourselves as being from the group and then invite people to your event. Make a public invitations to the leaders and people of the area you are visiting. Do it with style. Use heralds and act formally like you were in a period court. Stress what you are doing. Most of the event info make the events sound like cookie cutter things. I don't want to brave the unknown for the same old.
