Do any of you have any info on men wearing circlets? In Courtly Culture: Literature and Society by Joachim Bumke ( a very good book) there is a mentions "circlets(schapel) of precious metal, sometimes decorated like crowns. " Also there is a mention In Saxo of men wearing ribbon bands. 
I need to know if a young man of noble birth, son of a count, would wear a small metal circlet in the year 1207?
