No but putting some kind of cone (tape) helps the airodinamincs (sp).

I use a belt sander but a taper tool will work just dulls the blades fast.

Table saw to cut the UHMW with and a jig to drill the hole for the shaft. I
belive that Sir Jon is on mod III for UHMW and may have how to available. I
may have it in a saved file.
