ARCH - Marshals a many

Greetings and Hi There,

A while back we had some discussions on the subject of archery marshals and
how many a group should have.

As we grow the marshal is going to be at an event with archery who want to
practice still at the home group. Some groups are in this situation now
just as the combatants are.

According to the rules, a warrented archery marshal is to be present when
target archery is being shot. If a group only has the archery marshal
office holder, and that archer has to work or is at an event or for whatever
reason is not at the shoot; then by the rules no archery is to take place.
This is not good if there are archers there who want to shoot.

Sir Kief has lightened the burden on the combatants by having several
options available to them because they have several types of marshals. We,
on the other hand, only have one basic type, warrented. That can be the
office holder or a marshal at large.

My susgestion is that each group should have a office holder. Then as many
"at large marshals" as will pass the qualifications.

No, that doesn't mean every archer will become a marshal. Although every
archer having the knowlegde and capablity to do the job would be a wonderous
thing. No, every one will not become a archery marshal. Archery marshals
are a warrented position. To be warrented, you must be a paid member. Not
everone will do that for a varity of reasons (don't bring that soap box out
here. Take it back. Out! Out!) Wheeeew, that was close.

Plus the more of them there are, the more likely it will be to have multiple
marshals at an event to share the load.

But, that's just me.

Gilli

Shoot more arrows. You're bound to hit something.
