Geoff,

This past weekend you shot a Royal Round. That is what is used for the Ansteorran Archer Ranking system. An with Royal Round
scores you build an individual average for use inside the kingdom on your three highest scores.

A Royal Round consists of four groups of arrows:

6 arrows (no time limit) at 40 yards,
6 arrows (no time limit) at 30 yards,
6 arrows (no time limit) at 20 yards, and
timed round (30 sec.) at the 20 yard target with unlimited arrows

For more details see http://archery.ansteorra.org/royalrnd.htm

The IKAC round consists of twelve groups of arrows

6 arrows (no time limit) at 40 yards,
6 arrows (no time limit) at 40 yards,
timed round (30 sec.) at the 40 yard target with unlimited arrows,
timed round (30 sec.) at the 40 yard target with unlimited arrows,
6 arrows (no time limit) at 30 yards,
6 arrows (no time limit) at 30 yards,
timed round (30 sec.) at the 30 yard target with unlimited arrows,
timed round (30 sec.) at the 30 yard target with unlimited arrows,
6 arrows (no time limit) at 20 yards,
6 arrows (no time limit) at 20 yards,
timed round (30 sec.) at the 20 yard target with unlimited arrows,
timed round (30 sec.) at the 20 yard target with unlimited arrows.

The IKAC rules word this as "The IKAC consists of six-rounds: three regular target rounds of two ends of six arrows each (at 20, 30
and 40 yards) and three speed rounds at the same distances. "

Go to the web page at http://archery.ansteorra.org/forms.htm at take a look at a scoresheet and it visually becomes clear. You can
get two royal rounds from an IKAC you only get to count one Royal Round score per day per division.

In the IKAC competition we compete together as a Kingdom and the three single highest individual scores are averaged together to
come up with our Kingdom score. Only the highest score from each archer is counted towards the kingdom average.

For instance right now in the "Open" division we have a kingdom average of 178 from the following scores:

Ld Carlyle du Troyes 184
Baron Rumil Fletcher 184
HL Gilbert Ost Westley 168

Regards,

Eadric
