Bob Dewart (gilli at seacove.net) said something that sounded like:

Then why am I being told to become a deputy to my local officer instead
of being offered the ability to become an at-large officer instead?
I can go to any event and marshal on the field, but I can't go to any
event and run the archery range at this time because I have to be a
deputy to the local officer. Why are you and Talon special in this
regard?

Maybe it's just me, but if a group does not have a Rapier Marshal, an at
large Rapier Marshal should not be permitted in that group. I feel the
same for Archery.
Btw, I am for event based reporting instead of monthly as well. However
I am not in favor of favortism.
