The following is opinion about planning, and the life of an event. You
are welcome to disagree with me, but this is my opinion :

Any event that must be hosted, nearly religously, every other year by
the same group is NOT a thriving event. Further, I would say it does
not speak well for the community support of the event (as I know the
one at Raven's Fort last year was cancelled because there was no one
there to attend).

If one group has had such a large percentage of hosting this event, as
Middleford clearly has from looking over Gilli's history, I would
strongly suggest we not send it back there. I think this event needs
to go to a group who comes up with a new and inovative plan for the
event. New Blood.

I think the idea of forcing it to go to a specific region is stupid.
I'm sorry but that is a fundamentally flawed idea that demonstrates a
lack of understanding of why Crown is setup that way. For the record,
Crown is an event that EVERYONE wants to host, but which if left up to
the 'most convinient' rule of planning would almost always end up in
the Central Region. As such, they force it to move around so every
region has a chance of hosting this locally. Academy of the Bow on the
other hand is an event that there are major problems getting ANY bids
for. When nearly every region is submitting a bid for the privledge of
hosting Academy of the Bow, then forcing it to move around will make
sense. Before that, it's stupid. (Again, opinion, YMMV but I'd love to
hear the arguement for forcing it to move that was anything more than a
way to bully groups of that region to host something they don't WANT to
host).

I've probably angered enough people at this point. This was not the
most diplomatic post, but sometimes you just have to call a skunk, a
skunk.
