We don't and never have required a membership for Royal Rounds. The online
form require mundane name, branch, division, and score. We recognize that a
new archery might not have a membership or have selected an SCA name and
that a child might not have a membership.

However PLEASE be nice to the keeper and continue to fill in membership
numbers if people have them.

We get a lot of submission for "Robert" or "Eric" or "Roger" and sometimes
it can be hard to sort those out but if we have a membership number we know
exactly who they are talking about.

How many of you can tell me without looking how our kingdom archery marshal
spells his name? Fergus Mackenna? Feargus Mckenna? Ferghus MacKinna? Have
you ever tried to read our KAMs handwriting?

It makes data entry much easier and certainly much more sure if we have a
membership number to use as a key.

There was some thought of requiring a membership to earn any rank above
Bowman but we never took that very far primarily because at the time it
would have just complicated things and meant more programming for me.

Now we will be following suit with the children's competition. Now that
there will be an IKAC competition for children that is using the same
ranges, ages, and divisions throughout the known world we will have
children's divisions in the Ansteorran Royal Rounds. We have already been
in touch with the Keeper of the IKAC and have a draft copy of the new
children's rules. We will hopefully start with our Children's Royal Rounds
on Jan. 1. More to come.

Always in Service,

Lord Eadric Anstapa
Coastal Regional Archery Marshal, Ansteorra
