[Ansteorra-archery] Coronation or AoB

This question wasn't about the tassels.  It refers to the medallions that go
to the top 3 archers in each division of the Kingdom's version of the IKAC
which is the IAAC.

Far as I know now, the tassels are, when you qualify for them you can wear
them.  If you have a local Baron (ess) then they  can do something.  But as
far as I know, no big formal presentation.  Could be wrong.

Quick question here on the Archer tassels.

I had thought that one of the ideas for the tassels was for getting more
recognition for the archers in this Kingdom for thier skill.  Am I right on
this or am I mistaken?

My personal thoughts on the tassels are that if they are handed out at a
future AoB; most of the Kingdom will not 'know" what the tassels stand for
and will most likely not even bother to ask what or why they are hanging off
of our belts/quivers/ect.  as most will in the kingdom will just assume them
to be a household favor or some-such item that most SCA'ers carry on them.

But if the tassels are handed out to the recipients at January's Coronation
then the Kingdom will see them handed out and be taught what the tassels
stand for.  And just maybe, we will end up in the long run having more
individuals known and recognized for their Archery skills because others
will then know what the tassels represent.

That all said I am for they being done at Coronation with any undelivered
tassels being handed out at this years AoB or another future event.

But Hey. This is just my personal thoughts on the matter of the tassels
since I will not be receiving one this year as my away score was not
submitted in time this year (grrrrrr).

Oh well I will just shoot straighter this next year and verify that the
scores are submitted.
