Greetings and Hi There,

I've been thinking about how to do the sign-up for and distribution of the
assistance to comply with the SEM's ruling. I think I've come up with a way
of doing it that will work, if folks cooperate just a little.

There are several problems to over come in order to get this done. The first
is to get (at least at this point) the archers signed up with the number of
arrows / bolts they need refitted. This in itself creates a problem or two;
1) keeping track and not missing someone, 2) embarrassment asking for and
taking the help. The second is how to distribute the assistance. Third in
what form will the assistance be when it is distributed?

First, let's make some assumptions, gotts to have a base to start from.
There will probably be changes, but we can deal with them as needed.
Assumption #1--That an APD will be approved that will not require MAJOR
refits of bows or crossbows and will be useable on existing arrows / bolts.
Assumption #2--That the auctions raise enough to at least pay for the
refitting of the arrows and crossbow bolts. We already know where any left
overs are going

So how do we get folks signed up? Well, I can make a big fuss and try to
get folks to sign-up with me, probably won't get too many to do it that way.
I think the best way would be use an existing network of archers to
accomplish this task on a local level. Yeap the local archery marshal could
check with his folks and get a count of how many arrows / bolts need the
refit. Ok, granted some areas have archers but no archery marshal. For
those folks, I'd hope the Knight marshal would feel in or perhaps one of the
archers would take the lead. I think that would be a bit more manageable.
Of course if the regionals wanted to get involved that would be great.

The big thing I'm worried about here is that we'll have folks who'll show up
at the next war with their toys and not be able to play because they aren't
up to the new standard. I think we need to make a big effort to make sure
that doesn't happen. Honestly, I don't know any other way to do it.

Thoughts, comments, what do you all think?

I'd like to put something in the Black Star, so I'll need to do that here
pretty soon.
