Greetings Fellow Archers,
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my most humble and sincere
thanks to all who had a part in my receiving the award of the King's Archer.
I cannot say thank you enough, I can only promise to strive my utmost to be
worthy of this honor.
Today I received a reward of quite a different sort. My commander decided
he'd been working us too hard and gave us the day off. Thus left to my own
devices, I decided t'was time to tackle the jungle that used to be my yard.
Pulling my equipment out of the garage, I glanced over at my neighbor's yard.
She works at a hospital that's been short staffed so she's been pulling 14-16
hour shifts. Needless to say, her yard's a mess too, I mean it was.
I set to work like a fiend, employing every weapon in my yard work arsenal,
including a Brazilian machete! By the time I'd finished her yard was
transformed as if by some sorcerer's magic. As she pulled up in the driveway
this evening, I was just getting a good handle on my own yard. I paused to
watch her climb from her car and stand in her driveway, spinning about in
astonishment. My reward, perhaps intangible, but precious nonetheless, was
the look of gratitude on her face as she walked over to thank me.
"He serves himself best, who serves others", so today I gave myself a wee
gift and stood proof that here, in the land of the free and the home of the
brave, neighbors still look out for neighbors.

        Cheers All,
   Robert of Yorkshire
