I'm just going to be a pain here but someone please correct me.
Only the Ansteorran GT APD requires the APD to be completely covered in
Strapping tape. There is at least on other design with Heat rolled edges on
the APD that doesn't require the entire thing be covered in strapping tape.
The Heat rolled edges take significantly more work to make but they are
perfectly legal. I won't debate which is a better design as they both have
advantages and disadvantages.

	>Greetings into the Combat Archers of Ansteorra,
	>
	>At Lindenwood's Border War HL Fearghus & I found many of the combat
	>arrows & bolts brought to that event to use at the war practice did
not
	>comply with the standards set for the approved combat arrow/bolts
for
	>Gulf War.
	>
	>If your combat arrows/bolts do not meet these standards you will
not be
	>allowed to use them at Gulf. Save yourself the grief of arriving
on site
	>only to be told your combat arrows/bolts cannot be used and having
to
	>spend hours redoing them to get onto the field.
	>
	>Please recheck your combat arrow/bolts now to make sure they all
comply
	>to the APD designs listed below. If you are still unsure contact
your
	>local archery marshal, if you can't reach them contact your central
	>regional archery marshal, if still unsuccessful please contact HL
	>Fearghus, HL Gilli, or myself directly or via the
	>ansteorra-archery at ansteorra.org for assistance.
	>
	>CHECK THESE AREAS:
	>
	>Please pay particular attention to the nock area, the nock or shaft
	>cannot stick out more than one-half inch beyond the back of the
APD.
	>This is where we found the most problems.
	>
	>Next tapeing the GT APD's, all GT APD combat arrow/bolt's GT APD
must be
	>completely covered by strapping tape.
	>
	>Tapeing shafts, All wood shafts must be taped the length of the
shaft
	>with strapping tape. All fiberglass shafts must be taped the
length of

	>
	>All combat arrow/bolt heads must be additional secured to the shaft
by at
	>least one length of strapping tape around the head to the shaft,
and the
	>ends taped around the shaft itself to secure the strap tape.
	>
	>All combat arrows/bolts at Gulf must be labeled with the owner's
name and
	>kingdom. Anyone caught using unlabeled combat arrows/bolts will be
sent
	>to the Marshal's Court.
	>
	>And last, double check the diameter of the head of the combat
	>arrow/bolts. Marklands, modified marklands, & UHMW's, all can be
no less
	>than one and one quarter inch across.

	>Commanders please take heed and have your unit's combat archers
double

and
	>corrected here and not at Gulf!

	>Let's make sure all our combat archers attending Gulf get on the
field

problem.
