I bet there will be plenty of Marshals at Steppes Warlord and event a few Combat Archery Authorizing Marshals. If you are already an authorized fighter and therefore know the basic rules of engagement, armoring, etc. then it it not unreasonable to think that you could become an authorized Combat Archer at a single weekend event.

If you are a competent and safe archer and spend the weekend at the range interning and being observed it is not unlikely that you could become an authorized Target Archery Supervising Marshal after a single weekend.

If you are not currently authorized as a combat archer or marshal I think it is unlikely that you will become a Combat Archery Authorizing Marshal after a single weekend event.

Remember the Target Archery Marshals, Combat Archery Marshals, and Combat Archery Authorizing Marshals are only made by the Regional Archery Marshals or the Kingdom Archery Marshal. Still, there will likely be a few of those around at Steppes Warlord. If you wish to be a marshal you will need to develop a relationship with your Regional Archery Marshal. Even if you are authorized by someone else, your regional marshal is the person that will make sure you are on the warrant roster and that is the person you will be sending your reports to.

If you are interested in authorizing at any level, I suggest that you dont just wait till the event and then show up an expect he marshals to drop what they are doing and have time to authorize you. The yare aoften busy organizing and running things and in their spare time they like to participate and have fun themselves. Get in touch with an authorizing marshal in advance and make an appointment.

Academy of the Bow has passed but for those really serious about authorizing Gilli's weekends at Camp Finlayson are probably an excellent place to get it done. Those weekends are full of archery, there is plenty of time to intern, help run ranges, inspect, and in general be observed so you can be authorized.

Always in Service,
