A much more economical source for fiberglass rod is Gene Bolton Sales.
They are actually a sign and flag company, but they these use fairly
large quantities of 1/4" fiberglass rod and will sell it for a decent price.

The rod they stock comes in 60 inch lengths. They stock it in bundles
and will them to rough lengths (+/- 1/4" or so) for a small fee.

While on the subject of combat arrow parts, a local plastics supplier in
Fort Worth moved (they used to be a block from my office), but they are
still in business. The biggest advantage to them as a local supplier of
1-1/4" plastic rod was shipping cost. There are actually better prices
elsewhere on the material, but between tax and shipping, it usually came
out even or slightly ahead to pay sales tax and pick it up locally.
