Angus, i have threatened to carry a pouch of cornstarch to dip the points in
before firing.  This *should* leave a little, round, white mark on the spot
hit.  It washes off with water (or just brushes off dry), and would settle
the question rather quickly.  But then, i'm known for threatening the
impossible. . .
