If it's traditional medieval crossbow shoot you wish you might consider a
variant on the "Pop-n-Jay" using rabbit blunts to take the mock bird from
atop the pole. Downrange distance might be a bit of a problem but no
more than would a cloud shoot. That's a crossbow only contest.
