Greetings unto the Archers of Ansteorra!

The time draws nigh that the good Baron and Baroness of the Steppes shall hold competition to select a new Steppes Archer. Do you have the skill to become the next Steppes Archer? Since this is a champions shoot it is required that you be able to demonstrate your skill with a bow by posting an Ansteorran Bowman level score or above in order to shoot in the tourney. You may post such score in qualification shoots on Saturday or Sunday as well. That will likely be the only time in this tourney that you see the standard 5 color targets! The current Steppes Archer, Ulrich of Carolingia, has devised particularly challenging shoots to select only the truly skilled.

The tourney starts at high noon on Sunday and you may enter either the crossbow list or the archery list or both. The lists proceed until only one of each is left to face off in duel for the title.

Prizes of 1 dozen purpleheart footed shafts and a new wood bow are just two of the prizes offered in this tourney.

Novice Tourney- For those who do not get the chance to practice often or are new to archery- there will be a novice tourney held at on Saturday afternoon with a prize of a 35# pecan wood bow. To participate you must have an Ansteorran rank of Bowman or below. Higher ranking and more skilled archers are welcome to offer advice and encouragement to those that particpate in this tourney.

William Tell shoot will commence on Saturday at high noon. Open to all archers and will compete for a silver prize medallian made by Vincenzo of the Barony Steppes.

Childrens archery at 8 am on both days with childrens tourney on Sunday.

Site token required to participate. Loaner gear will be available for all but the Steppes Archer tourney.

Please feel free to cross post this to other lists as needed.

Jacques the Spink
Steppes Archery Marshall
