Tell that to the current Crown. They declined to give two King's Archers
because the intended receipants had received other awards within the
previous three months.
What's wrong is that we have people that should have been recommended and
received the award that haven't in the past year. What's wrong is that
these deserving folks have to wait for their recognition because folks
didn't overcome their inirtia and write up an award recommendation.
What is also wrong is thinking there can only be so many given out at a
time. As long as we have folks who are qualified to get the award, we need
to write up the recommendations. As many as 30 plus Stars and Irises have
been given out in a year. So I think we're along way from that.

With all due respect, the calendar is the last thing you ever want to use
as a criteria for giving out awards. The theory that there have only been
two KAA in that last year indicates we need to start reccommending more
people is wrong. IF we buy into that then we can get caught by the
flipside, there will come a day when we have several people that deserve
awards and are told that "We've already given out too many of those this
reign so no more"
As it happens there is an award rec or two that I think should go in but
it's certainly not because it's been a year.

HL Moregg got her Archer in '99 and her AM in '02. And Jacques did get his.
OK, OK...so that's TWO in almost a year. I went to the OP and checked the
Lesser Awards and there is a list for Kings Archer.

"This award is given to show exceptional accomplishment in archery."
A year? I think maybe the web site just hasn't been updated in a year. I
think I remember witnessing Lady Moreg receiving her King's Archer, but I
don't recall exactly which event it was at, 3 Kings maybe? I thought Lord
Owen Hell received his King's Archer at Steppes 12th Night on January 4th,
the same day he won the Royal Huntsman tourney? And didn't Lord Jacques the
Spinks receive a King's Archer at Glaslyn's Defender of the Flame on March
29th?
It would be embarrassing to the Crown to call someone up for an award
they've already received. (Trust me, you see and hear a lot standing behind
that throne, hehehe)

Greetings and Hi There,
I'm shocked!!! I just looked at the list of folks that have gotten some of
the archery awards that is on the web page.
It has been almost a YEAR since the last King's Archer was given out. A
Go**** YEAR!!!!! That includes the fact that two past Royal Huntsman still
don't have a Kings Archer yet either.
I know that I recommended two that weren't given out because the receipants
had within the previous 3 months received other awards.
Don't write a responce to the list about this. Instead, write an award
recommendation.
