APDs are REQUIRED on thin shafted arrows in the IKCAC regardless of
what armor is being word or what kingdom you are from.

Miniumum 1.25" blunts are REQUIRED (no bird blunts) regardless of
what armor is being worn or what kingdom you are from.

These changes were made back in 2003 season. This is basically a
move towards the mainstream or middile to level the playing field a
bit so that no one kingdom has a great advantage.

Bear in mind that the use of Rapier armor in the IKCAC is sort of
view as unsporting by other kingdoms. There are no standards for
Combat Archery on the rapier field at the society level and
Ansteorra is basically the only kingdom that has ever really done
Rapier CA.

The IKCAC rules say:

"PROTECTIVE GEAR:

The archers must shoot while wearing at least the minimum protection
required by SCA rules for combat archery, except the requirements
for groin and kidney protection are waived."

Since there are no SCA rules for combat archery on the rapier field
it is easy to see why many kingdoms contend that it is not allowed
in the IKCAC and that it is unsporting to try and get away with it.

Now, if you did choose to shoot your IKCAC in rapier gear then you
would need to be wearing full list legal rapier armor minus groin
protection.

Regards,
