Well, again -- that's wonderful if that is what the young man there
chooses to do.  But I just wonder why so many people keep putting the
pressure on for Rob to move up to the adult category?  We -- me, his
mother and his mentors -- have worked with him to decide how and when
he'll be ready to move on to the next level.  It is not beneficial, in
my vast mothering experience -- to push a kid too far too soon.  And
that's that.

I do thank the many folks who have congratulated Rob, because as a
single mom -- it's REALLY important that he hears encouragement from
other people ... didn't YOUR mom always think you were the best no
matter what???  :)   So, having someone outside our family take the
time to teach him, and praise him, makes a big difference in his life.
 That's ALL this is about -- just congratulating a kid who did a good
thing.

And yes, that young man up your way also deserves congrats for his
accomplishment.  What's wrong with a pat on the back now and again --
everyone could benefit from a little more kindness!
