Guess that I am just used to the 4-H 'er saying I will be that old in 2 years and have to shoot at the longer range why can't I shoot it now.
Let him shoot the shorter range but have him shoot at the next step up every so often, not his first end or last but in the mix some where he needs to have at the longer ranges.
