Actually really looking at what gilli is doing - i admire it. I think that 200 for new gear for baronial equipment is great. But here are some questions.

Why not take the same 200 and make the equipment? i mean in this grand kingdom we have bowyers, crossbowsmiths, fletchers, people who sew, people who have access to everything that is needed to make a GREAT top notch loaner gear secton.

The baronies already get a fund for once a year to rebuy used equipment if i recall correcetly, so why not use the talent and make the things each barony needs directly?

Now gilli i KNOW you are trying to get people to get out and shoot and i think that is honorable and wonderful, but the end goal is to get people to shoot and get good and beat the top archers in this land. The idea is to build archers to replace the ones that drift away or simply retire.

so give the baronies something to get new people interested as a whole. Lets face it. If a new archer is actually interested in shooting and sticking with it they will end up getting there own gear within month of shooting the first time funds permitting. If you have people known to make the loaner gear in the first place you gave the new archer a resource to goto to get thier own gear and help a crafter out. End goal feeding your own, growing them and contributing as a whole.

Just my opinion and words as much sense as they may or maynot make. But i am deffinately one that will help making both modern laminate bows and crossbows in aid of loaner gear.

I will be at home this weekend and have Sherenia and 2 other archers there from tonight until sunday. swing by and shoot. No shooting alone - i hate it as well, about the only time i do shoot alone is when im testing/tuning a crossbow thats heading out. Other then that, i shoot with others. hehehe.

In denton
940-380-0654 - call or email, will be there.

My thought was if people need another area to shoot - im offering my land as a possible thought.

Hey gilli, now since im a crossbowman and i am a mercenary at large i can sell myself for score yes? hey thats period!!!! hehehehe

Ulrich <--- still frisky as it is friday and it is sunny, and i have shiner bock in the frig calling my name.

JUST A FEW MORE THOUGHTS ...

>Personally - i have a range at my home in denton and would be MORE then happy to open it up to those that want to shoot, we can get out to 70 yards and the range is SCA legal. Lots of shade, bathrooms, drink and relaxing only 20 steps away from the shooting line. But the having to do it on home turf spoils that.
FOR ME IT'S SHOOTING ALONE THAT IS NO FUN .
