Friends and fellow archers,
Time is slipping up on us, and pretty soon we'll be letting the
woodshavings fly, our wee bowmaking seminar is the 3rd thru the 5th of June.
Still undecided about whether or not to come? Well, consider this; I can
make a 40 lb. draw wooden longbow cheaper than you can buy a large pizza. And,
there is nothing, absolutely nothing, I would enjoy more, than teaching you how
to make bows too.
I have to warn you though, once you've launched an arrow downrange with a
bow made by your own two hands, there ain't no turning back. The bows that took
1st, 2nd, and 3rd in kingdom in last year's IKAC period division all bore my
maker's mark. And, I've made loads of bows since I made those ;-)
Why waste good money on expensive "store bought" bows, bowstrings, arrows,
quivers, and bracers, when you can learn to make them yourself at a fraction
of the cost? And if you ain't careful, your handcrafted archery gear is liable
to look and feel more medieval than your garb! Holy cow!
Got your attention? Goooooood. See you at Bowyerthon!

Cheers,
Robert of Yorkshire

p.s: just a reminder, this is not an official SCA event, it's simply a public
service to our fellow archers. however, there is a range on site, the very
range at which we conduct our Sunday shire archery practices, so we can quite
likely get you an "away" RR or IKAC/IKCAC score shot starting 9 am Sunday (the
scheduled/published time for our official practices)
