If there is anyone near Shadowlands, they can check the crossbow in the Memorial Museum.

    Greetings all.

Does anyone know if 3 piece triggers were used in period on the heavy crossbows?

The problem i am running into is on bows above 450lbs it is a bear to pull a standard trigger to release the nut. On the target bows i make for national shoots there is a 3 to 5 piece trigger i copy where the trigger is not in contact with the release - rather the trigger is pulled and a piece slaps the release thus letting the string go. This makes for a very crisp and easy pull.

I am in need of doc's/pics of any pics that might have used none traditional triggers - the germans and swiss were masters of this stuff but im coming up short.

  Any knowledge on this?

  Thanks

PS, good luck t! o those that are shooting in the huntsman this coming weekend, looks to be a fun shoot. :)

One's sense of honor is the only thing that does not grow old, and the last pleasure, when one is worn out with age, is not, as the poet said, making money, but having the respect of one's fellow men.
-Thucydides
When you face a liar, look not first at the lie itself, but try hard to learn more of the liar and reason out just why he tells such a falsehood before you render judgement upon him. And if you find that liar is motivated by malice and spite, then render that judgement which causes his doom.
