[Ansteorra-archery] Battle of Three Kings

Greetings,
Lady Ahlanna a'Becket of Wolfstar plans to shoot for HE Ainar as well. I'm not an authorized combat archery marshal, but would like to become one, if that is something that might be going on at the same event.

I plan to attend with my crossbow. I will be joining my companions from Bryn
Gwlad in supporting our good friend and neighbor Baron Godwyn as Harold
Godwinson.

I have not yet received my CA marshal authorization. I would be happy to
assist with inspections under supervision if that is acceptable.

Happy Hunting Artair.

For those of you that never met him, you WILL miss him if you never know
it. I never spent time with Artair that I didn't learn something and I
never got to spend nearly as much time with him as I would like. I am
a personal fan on Ben Pearson and his bows and Artair had some stories
to tell about Pearson.

Tonight an arrow from my quiver shall be sacrificed to Artemis in hope
that Artair might have a full quiver for his hunts.

We will miss Artair, but the teachings he passed on will remain with us, my only regret is not having learned more of them.

A battle lost, but victory in hand. It is with saddens hearts that this
message comes to you. At age 72, Artair MacMora (aka Author Starkie) has
lost his battle over long term illness.

However, he has won his place in the memories of many. Many will remember
Artair as a person who enjoyed good fellowship, bow making, and archery. To
continue his teaching, he has donated his body to the Anatomical Board of
the State of Oklahoma. Therefore, no funeral service will be held.

There will be a memorial service held at: Our Savior Lutheran Church, 300
North Madison, Bartlesville OK. Time and Date will be announced later.
Anyone who wishes to attend the services, please contact Raimond Mora (aka
Neal Starkie) at 806-640-3533 or 918-336-9129 for details. Please do not
email, for information, as to computer access is limited.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church,
300 North Madison, Bartlesville OK.

~Rose and Raimond

In Service,

A great grandfather, a grandfather, a father, a husband, a teacher, and a
friend will be missed.

A sad day indeed. I have had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the
gentleman on several occasions. Not only he but his knowledge will be
sorely missed.

Greeting to all Archers,

The Elfsea Defender Archery shoot was held Saturday 09/22/07 at the Glen Rose Camp-N-Fish park. What a great location. The winner was Robin of North Keep, OK winning by one point while shooting at Lord Martino Arciere's (privies Defender Champion) star shaped inverted 5 color target at 40 yards. This was Robin's fifth SCA archery shoot. We are all very proud for Robin of North Keep....ViVat....... The shoot was setup as a Swiss Five (five different) target shoot with varying distances and the archer's line moved in a bear pit style making the archers very fatigued near the end of the 90 minute shoot.

Special thanks to those whom assisted with the setup and take down of the archery field. You each worked very hard and I am grateful to you all. Also, a special thanks to HL Edric and HL Blackmoon for their excellent marshaling assistance on the field and to Christopher de Beer as list Mistress (score keeper).

  In-Service to their Excellencies,
  Lord Daniel O'Ceileachair
  Elfsea Archery Marshal
