[Ansteorra-archery] speaking of crossobow repairs...

Titanium is going to expensive and steel will be very heavy and slow to 
turn.  You might want to try the plastic or aluminum again but add a 
strip of steel/brass were the nut and trigger meet.  It doesn't have to 
be very thick and you can epoxy it in place.  Should save on the wear 
and tear.  This should give you a rough idea of what I mean.  Master 
Iolo has been doing his this way with wooden nut and it seems to work.  
The material should be the same as the trigger.
