Yes, I know, Eadric, but I wasn't going to name names unless someone specifically asked me. And no, Arthur, I am not acquainted with Sir Lyonel. I probably don't know more than a dozen personally and maybe a few more by sight.

I don't know about that, Arthur. There is at least one knight that has been posting that is less than thrilled with CA and he is from Ansteorra. At least I sure see his name on the Ansteorran list from time to time. While he isn't as negative as some, he certainly isn't positive, either. greetings

first let me say , that while several out of kingdom kings / dukes / knights have expressed strong desire to see combat archery done away with completely ,or heavily modified , usualy stating that it is for " safety reasons " .
however , i have to date seen no anti combat archery posts made by ansteorran knights !
yes , fear can ruin everything, but that sword cuts both ways. over reacting to false statements can cause just as much trouble as making false statements.
please don't let the words of a few loud nay sayers , prompt anything less than an honorable response .
remember , our kingdom , doesn't suffer so much from this sad disease.
i am not very familiar with other kingdoms ways or systems of honor , so i can't say for sure ,

but just maybe , at least in ansteorra, our people look at " honor and acting honorably " as more than something you swear to do once, and never have to think about again ??
perhaps putting your own " feelings " aside for the benifit of the kingdom isn't some strange thought brought on by too much drink .

but who knows ; )

keep going to events, keep having fun , the society just changed the combat rules, so i don't see them suddenly dropping combat archery .

be safe, be happy,have fun
arthur
