[Ansteorra-archery] Archery in Namron

I want to thank everyone who came out for archery today. Altogether we
had 16 shooters (if you include the twins). We managed to get some
Royal Round scores and some IKAC scores to turn in. His Excellency was
the highest scorer and it looks like it will bump his averages up a
little. I'll get the scores turned in tomorrow when I can add correctly.

I especially want to thank Lord Lawrence for bringing out his new
life-sized foam human target. It was dressed in period clothes and
standing at the 20 yard line with a sword in its hand. The first volley
of arrow fire was impressive! The dummy would jerk with each hit in a
quite realistic manner. It felt real. We have to do it again.

I also want to thank Lord Christian for the help with the hanging carpet
backdrops. It worked like a charm.

As a reminder, we *will* have practice again this coming Sunday the 18th
but there will be *no practice* the weekend of the 25th of May. Most of
us will be down at Steppes Warlord and hopefully several of us will
shoot in their excellent and fun competitions. They usually have a
shoot for the less experienced archers, so please bring your bows and
give it a try. You might even get lucky and win (it's happened
before... *grin*).

Master Ulf, CAO
Namron's Archery Marshal
