[Ansteorra-archery] Third Quarter 2008 Royal Round Keeper Report

The only way to encourage people to shoot Royal Rounds is to have them where
and when people are around. Many people in the SCA are dabblers. We each have
a primary interest and dabble a little here and a little there in
other activites and time
and opportunity allows.

The archery at Gate's Edge Saturday was impressive. The numbers of participants
was fantastic! As a matter of fact the shear number of people
already particating
was part of the reason I didn't this time.

I know that the seneca run does take time. I had the pleasure to
visit and watch
from the side lines. But for the most part it is not a spectator
event. I enjoyed
visiting the people waiting in line for their turn to do the run.
What I am curious
about is what prevented shooting a RR? It might have been something for the
people not doing the seneca run to do while they waited. You say that you were
equipped to run a RR but it didn't happen. Was it a lack of marshals?

Just curious,
