Good Morning,

As our General, Centurion Caladin, pointed out yesterday, we will be
having various Combat Archery activities at the upcoming Centurion event.
This event is being held the weekend of January 15-17 at the Castleton site
in the Barony of Bryn Gwlad. More info can be found at:

http://centurioneventclasses.wetpaint.com/page/Main+Schedule (just a
strawman schedule to be flushed out as we confirm classes and teachers)

Why I am contacting this list is two-fold.

First, I want to encourage everyone who is or wants to be a combat archer
to attend. We want to have various basic classes, authorizations, and target
and live shoot scenarios. The event should have something for everyone
around the chivalric and melee arts, including classes for those supporting
combatants. For those interested in combat, there won't be a better place to
get exposure and focused training from combat archery to siege weapons to
sword work to pole-arms to melee tactics. The event will be non-stop
training, fighting, and melees. Then when the sun goes down, the revelry
will begin!

Second, I am looking for a couple volunteers to help out with classes and
to help with the competitions and authorizations. It is our hope to have a
couple basics classes such as ammo assembly, marshal training and CA tactics
discussion. For competitions, we are looking to have something for those who
are authorized CA combatants such as an archers duel, as well as something
for non-authorized archers shooting at static targets. This will be in
addition to the melees that are planned for the Saturday afternoon and
Sunday. If you are able to help out, please contact me privately via email
at pug at pug.net

For those looking to be authorized, please make sure that you arrange to
have available the equipment you will use beforehand (armor & weapons).
There will be a limited amount of bows and ammo available to borrow, but it
is always best to practice and use the equipment you will be on the field
with.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the event doing the things we
enjoy!

In service,
