I have a crossbow I bought about 2 yrs ago from Muskogee's ren faire. Its about and 80lb pull but the body is not build for functionality. Its been destroying rollernuts ever since I got it. I like the crossbows body but would like to have a lighter prod on it say around 40-45 lbs. If anyone has a lighter prod they would like to trade up for I would be interested. The prod is about 30" from tip to tip strung and metal. heres a link to a pic. of it.

OK,  I gotta ask this because It is something that I have been
considering.  Remembering that Res Point is technically on the
battlefield...

If you go through the trouble of getting someone authorized and in armor
so that they can be on the field,  is it better to have them back at res
point handing you 15 arrows at a time... or better to have them up in
the thick of things shooting at people.

Regards,

-EA

You'll spend more time tromping back to reload than you will shooting.
Which is, no doubt, the idea; try to wear the archers out so they can't
hit anything, or at least make them waste time away from the lines. I
wouldn't mind a quiver limit if it was at least for a sensible amount of
arrows, say 40. Two score wouldn't have been an outlandish number of
rounds for an archer to carry in battle in period, after all.

And I'll bet they wouldn't let you have a runner bring you more arrows,
even if the runner only carried 15 at a time. 'It's not in the rules, so
you can't do that.'

Are we fighters or lawyers nowadays?

Charles

Shooting people. With the silly, stupid, insane ammo limit, you'll need
the extra bows at the line, cause they'll spend most of their time
walking back and forth, not shooting people.

Tie your arrows or bolts together in groups of 15.  Shove the bundle in your quiver, until the knot, go back (if its halfway down the ravine, thats about 100 yards, not that long of a walk).  Doing this will cut down on your reload time.

Guys, its not going to change so instead of getting annoyed, put your heads together and think outside the box.  Find ways to make your reload go faster, talk to other archers who are in at the same time to find out where the best places to shoot are.  Maybe get a bunch together and make a killing volley in a single spot in the line before you spread back out.

This is actually doing us a favor by letting us get out of that "gotta shoot fast and get rid of my ammo" and make you select your targets because of the ammo restriction.  Volleys are nice, snipers are better.

Just my thoughts but im gonna see if I cant work this to my advantage somehow.
