Heilsa,

First off, every archer that is going to Gulf Wars and intend to fight
in the Ravine need to do the following:

For what I am about suggest is almost 180 degrees from what I normally
do, here goes -
Take a page out of the heavy fighters playbook for the Ravine - they do
not come back from res point in singles or in twos, they come back as a
group. I am suggesting each archer gather together and form into small
units of archers.

This would include at beginning of "Lay On", do relays of archer "killer
groups" at 5 or 8 minute intervals, if the time needs to be adjust then
adjust these times.

Example: If there are 30 archers - then break them up into 3, 5, or 6
small groups. Group A, B, C, and D, etc.... Each group moves up at 5 or
so minute intervals. So that there are always some group in the ravine
shooting. This will provide continuous arrows in the air.

If someone runs out of arrows, then walk back to res, get some arrows
and then wait for the rest of your group to come back to res. Once all
of you have re-supplied, then and only then walk back. By that time, the
1st group(s) should be coming back to re-supply.

Continue this type of relay of groups and hopefully - there will no let
up of arrows flying and "killing" in the Ravine.

This may NOT be popular with a good many people - but this has become
public knowledge, at least up here at Steppes Sunday afternoon heavy
fighter practice:

He made the following statements back in December 2008:

There should be only two type of activities at any SCA events:
1. Tournaments
2 Pick-up fights after the tournaments.

In addition - Current King - does not like Combat Archers -He never has.
