[Ansteorra-archery] 30th year archery shoot

On Friday and Saturday morning of the Ansteorran 30th Year Anniversary Event, we will be holding archery activities.  Listed below are is a general overview of those activies.  We hope to see you there!
 

**Please forward as needed.  I am not on every list and therefore cannot cover them all.  

 

All archers are encouraged to bring extra arrows. Time will not be given in between each set of shooters to hunt for arrows except while scoring is being done. After each Round is completed and the range is being adjusted for the next round there will be LIMITED time to hunt for arrows.
 
Friday: 3 shoots, Children’s, Youth, and Adult
Equipment Inspection starting at 8:30am
Range opens for practice at 8:30am
Signup for competition opens at 8:30am

Children’s Shoot – Ages 10 and under only: Signup closes at 9:15am
Round 1 – 9:00am – Dragon Target – 6 arrows, Everyone advances to the next round, no time limit – Scores carry forward.
 
Round 2 – Multi Range Shoot – 3 targets, 3 arrows per target, Period Target and Period scoring, Gold = 8 points, Green = 4 points, White = 2 points – 3 arrow set then move to next target.  Everyone advances to next round – Scores carry forward
 
Round 3 – Evil Elmo Shoot – 2 archers on the line at one time, 6 arrows per archer, 5 points for heart shot, 3 points for head or body shot, 1 point for arm or leg shot – arrows do not have to stick to count, there will be an observer watching each child shooting.
 
Tie Breaker – If required – If there is a tie between two or more archers, there will be a tie breaker round that will be announced at that time.
 
Prize: Toy basket

Youth Shoot – Ages 11 through 15: Signup closes at 9:30am
Same targets as the Children’s shoot, but they will be at different ranges.
Round 1 – 9:00am – Dragon Target – 6 arrows, Everyone advances to the next round, no time limit – Scores carry forward.
 
Round 2 – Multi Range Shoot – 3 targets, 3 arrows per target, Period Target and Period scoring, Gold = 8 points, Green = 4 points, White = 2 points – 3 arrow set then move to next target. Everyone advances to next round – Scores carry forward.

Adult Shoot: Signup closes at 9:45am
Some of the same targets as the Children’s and Youth shoot, but they will be at different ranges.
Round 1 – Dragon Target – 3 Shooters on the line at one time, 6 arrows per shooter, score after 6 shooters, 60 seconds allowed to shoot - Everyone advances to next round – Scores carry forward
 
Round 2 – Multi Range Shoot – 3 targets, 3 arrows per target, Period Target and Period scoring, Gold = 8 points, Green = 4 points, White = 2 points – 15 seconds per 3 arrow set then move to next target and another 15 seconds will be given. Everyone advances to next round – Scores carry forward
 
Round 3 – Trimarin knight shoot – 5 points for crest, 3 points for body or head, 1 point for arm or leg – arrow must stick to count - 
 
Tie Breaker – If required - If there is a tie between two or more archers, there will be a tie breaker round that will be announced at that time.
 
Prize: Hand tooled leather bracer with the Ansteorran 30th Anniversary symbol. Being made and donated by Laurence of the Greenwood.

Saturday
Equipment Inspection starting at 8:30am
Range opens for practice at 8:30am
Signup for Royal Round opens at 8:30am
 
Royal Round / IKAC will begin at 9:00am. As soon as a Royal Round / IKAC is complete we will have a practice round and then begin another Royal Round as time permits. People should bring more than 6 arrows as there will be LIMITED time for hunting arrows. Hunting for arrows will only be permitted during scoring and some time will be allowed in between Royal Rounds.
