I have always gone with cedar if I have an option.  They are lighter and more 
forgiving than oak.  They smell better too

im placing an order with 3 rivers and was thinking of picking up a dozen arrow 
shafts for my longbow(40-45LB.) does anyone have a suggestion on what kind I 
should order. i heard the cheaper oak where not so great ...
