Sir Lasguaard has been working with the Dallas Muzzleloaders to set up this great opportunity to fling arrows, knives, and axes.

As a group, the SCA archers and thrown weapons community have been invited to the following;

In celebration of our Dallas Muzzle Loading Gun Club’s Fiftieth Year Silver Arrow Challenge, Saturday June Second Two Thousand Twelve At the March Coover Range
Bows to be used are a stick and string any that would be used prior to 1840 non plastic recurves somewhat accepted. The competitions will be Set Target, Trail walk and Hawk and Knife. Special award for Dress, either Rendezvous or Medieval.

Date; the event is 6/2/12, and is a single day event. Camping is allowed and encouraged!

Schedule; Things will get started around 9:30-10:00, and go ‘til nobody wants to do anything else.

Equipment; In the spirit of mutual cooperation, fun, and frolic, any archery equipment or thrown weapons that are legal within our rules are being allowed to be used in/on their (DMLGC) site. In the spirit of keeping things simple, please doesn’t bring experimental equipment.

Range; The range has a covered firing line that extends for 30 yards (approximately) with firing lanes extending for 100 yards. After the 100 yards heavy brush starts immediately. Range rules are set by DMLGC, and we will need to abide by them. They won’t be burdensome!

Contests; There will be a “Set Range” ( Modified RR) & a “Trail Walk”, using 3D targets. Other competitions are possible when we see how many get here, and what they want to do for competitions. So dust off your persona, bring your best gear and garb and have a good time with what we do best!

The Site; The site is primitive! There are permanent privies. There is an abundance of shade and cleared space for camping, and we are being encouraged to camp and help DMLGC celebrate their fiftieth year. The site is wet, use period containers!!! Make sure to bring plenty of bug spray and sunscreen as needed. Cell phone reception is limited to nonexistent depending on your provider.

Water; No water, running or otherwise, so bring what you will need.

Fires; At this date, there are no burn bans in effect, but that could change before the event
.
Site Fee; $5.00 per individual.

Location; The site is just south of the town of Tool, TX, which lays between Kemp, TX which is to the north of Tool, and Athens to the South. All three of these towns are on US 175.

Directions; From Dallas South on 175, at Kemp right on 274 past Tool, Right on FM3225, Turn right at T in the road and enter at the yellow gate. (It will be the only gate with a shield attached to it)
