[Ansteorra-archery] Thrown Weapons pendants

I found at Gulf Wars someone that makes pendants out of thick leather. They actually press the emblem into the leather. I bought a few and have already started presenting them to any Thrown weapons Marshals that I authorize. I wear mine to almost every event I go to. This could be a good idea for others to do and present to their Thrown weapons Marshals.

Yo! Yo! ?Ansteorrans!!! ?

What's that you say?? ?You're going to be near Midland this Saturday and you /really/ want to play with SCA people?!? ?Well, it just so happens that The Barony of Bonwicke is holding an archery and thrown weapons day in Goldsmith this Saturday. ?You should come! ?And if you can't come, please pass this along to someone who might be able to. ?I've got a fun selection of shoots planned, and I think everyone will have a great time. ?:)

The address for the park is roughly 300 Avenue I in Goldsmith, TX 79741.

And, just in case you can't make it this weekend, we'll be holding a practice in Goldsmith every third Saturday (first Saturdays for June and July) of the month, barring weather and marshal availability. ?I hope to see you there!

If you need gear, directions, or a ride, please contact me and I'll see what I can do.

Archers!

I was just checking our SCA Scores page and we have very few IKAC
shoots on the books.
I know that space is limited for the 30 and 40 yard targets, so look
around as to who is having
a practice that has a full set of targets and go visit them. Better
yet, contact them and see if they cant schedule a special practice day
for a full IKAC shoot once every 3 months.

Archers!

How many of you are familiar with the Archery Tassels? It is one way that we may
signal to the populace that we are Archers! And within our community,
it shows which of us
shoots handbow, crossbow, open and period.

Same here. I ran one earlier this year but didn't have much participation. Most of my archers are new and I'm having trouble convincing them that it doesn't matter what their skill level is, they should try it. A lot of them see it as a form of competition, and they lack the confidence for competing. I've been working to instill in them that it doesn't matter what skill level they are currently at, what matters is that they have fun. I've always tried to teach my archers that Royal Rounds and IKAC's are to help them track their progress in archery, not to separate them from other archers. The tassel is just evidence of an archer. I've also offered to anyone of my archers that completes 3 RR scores (one of which has to be an away score) then I will personally make their tassel. And I'll extend that offer to any archer that wishes to use Eldern Hills as their "away" score.

In service,
Ld Griffin Fane
Archery Marshal, Eldern Hills

Thank You Lord Griffin!

I will second the offer. If you are on the Scores web page I will make
you a tassel. Which means that you have completed
3 shoots, one being away from your home location. See me at
Wiesenfeuer Baronial, I will have my tassel making stuff
with me. And yes, it's another shameless plug for you to attend this event.
