Really, I would be curious where you are getting that from. Obviously
you are reading the rules somewhat different than I am. The only
Combat Archers that I am aware of that require a Armoured Combat
authorization are the 16-18 year old ones. Care to give us the section
you are quoting from.<br>

Ansteorra has traditionally allowed combat archers to use thrown
weapons in combat. If it that is no longer the case it sure wasn't
well communicated. Therefore my assumption is that Combat Archer are
still allowed to use thrown weapons.

According to the current rules you have to be authorized in Armored
Combat to fight on the field at all. Since archers are full contact
fighters you are required to be authorized as a fighter before you
become authorized as an archer. So the answer is still yes.
