I have continued to shoot the longbow in my backyard since the damage 12 yrs. ago, but have not brought it out to a Ansteorran event because I felt it might be deemed "unsafe" as of the damage. I shot it exclusively in Drachenwald (pre damage). If I do the rawhide repair as the archery shop suggested it will make the damage unviewable. It looks bad, but has not caused any ill effects to the bow. The shop I bought it at in England told me not to do anything with it. Not to try and shave or reshape it. They said it was safe but that if I was concerned to do a period style rawhide repair. My question is will it be considered "safe" for <SPAN><SPAN><SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>SCA</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN> use?
