excited, then after a while , start getting bored, or tired, or half a hundred
other " reasons " .</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>( how many field heralds do you see wearing their tabbards
to make announcements across site throughout the day ? )</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>i know the north has a large percentage of archers that
are also marshals.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>so i would wonder , how many of them would wear a marshals
tabbard all day ?? how many only in the morning before the days shooting started
? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>and how many would " forget " them in camp, or at home,
etc. ( for what ever reason )</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>and then you have multiple " other " questions to ask
about the tabbards ... will there be a specified " dealer " people have to buy
them from ? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>will they all be identical ?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>what materials should be used ? too thick and you
roast in the ansteorran heat , too thin and they will fade , or tear easily
....</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>what dyes are to be used ? will they bleed all over
peoples garb , from sweat or rain ??</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>just for a few.</FONT></DIV>

ask... since the sca is supposed to be a " social " group, where people learn by
speaking to others, and doing with others..</FONT></DIV>

greet them and ask if they would like their equipment inspected

<DIV><FONT face=Arial>have the marshals all forgotten that we perform a "
service " to the missile community , as well as our local and regional groups,
and yes even the kingdom and society levels, since we help keep a large
number of people active in the sca. ??</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>I would like to have an easier way for archers to figure out who is a
marshal on archery ranges. For one thing it will help them find people who
can inspect their equipment. My idea is a sash striped yellow and black
like a marshal staff. There can be something different to mark the marshal
in charge and any marshals in training.</DIV>
<DIV>At smaller events it is not as big an issue, but I have observed a
bit of confusion and chaos at larger ranges.</DIV>
