[Ansteorra-chirurgeon] Brag ,... um, sharing

David came home from KC, KS, Friday night, which was wonderful.  More
wonderful yet is he gets to stay here this week because Sprint wants him
to 'interface' with one of their suppliers.  YAY!!  Which means he was
here for one of the high points of my SCA career - one that some members
of this list helped to make a reality.
 
Saturday night, at Steppes Fall Court, Tenchi Sueko-san was given a
Sable Thistle in Japanese Culture. Baroness Valeria Richilia de Navarro
insisted that Sueko accept her own first Thistle in place of the one the
Crown sent.
 
Naturally, her mother wept.  Her father wasn't a lot less moved, but hid
it better.  Also present were two friends of Sueko's, newcomers to the
SCA with Japanese personae.  They made it possible to engage in some
serious persona play over a WOMAN being given an award without the
presence and permission of her clan chief.  
 
Thanks to all who were in on this - and I bet there were a bunch from
this group.
