Hang on, folks. Nobody's warrant is in danger of cancellation. Please read
the information below.

After doing that, please go to the website and update your file, filling out
every block you can, and adding your birthdate (month and date only) to the
'other stuff' or 'bio' section, please.

If your First Aid or CPR card is dated later than the website says, please
send a new copy of it to me and to your Regional Chirurgeon. If that
position is currently empty, the KC will accept that copy to pass on to the
person who will fill it.

If your membership has been updated, ditto above. Why do we ask this? Well,
first, because we have to keep records on all of our Chirurgeons. Second,
this office, and the KC, receive requests periodically for CICs. We cannot
recommend someone whose file is not up to date . This does include the
much-maligned annual report.

If your warrant card has expired, or is incorrect in any way, please email
me directly to obtain a corrected warrant card. Since you need to be
showing these at each event you attend and function as a Chirurgeon, it is
important that they are correct. New cards are color-coded. Apprentices
are red, Journeymen are white, and Masters are gold. If yours is the wrong
color, it needs correction and an apology from me for not catching the
mistake. The color-coding is not to create 'castes', but to let Event
Stewards and CICs know at a glance if someone can work alone, needs a
warranted helper, or can be that helper. Technically, Apprentices aren't
warranted, but don't tell the King, ok?

Known world law states that warrants may be 'as long as three years'.
Therefore, when I do a warrant card for someone, the date on it is three
years hence. This warrant card allows that person to function as a
Chirurgeon.

Ansteorran law states that a warrant roster must be presented at Round
Table, every six months, by the then-sitting Kingdom Chirurgeon or his/her
designee. An up-to-date warrant roster, which again only allows one to
function as a Chirurgeon, is duly presented, and in fact, January's is in
the works as I write this.

Specific 'jobs', such as Baronial or Regional Chirurgeon, Deputy Kingdom
(for whatever) Chirurgeon, and, indeed, Kingdom Chirurgeon are presented as
separate warrants at the time the individual assumes the position, or as
soon thereafter as possible. Since the person in that position serves at
the pleasure of the KC and Kingdom Seneschal, the date on the warrant is
usually two years hence, just to keep things neat.

Now and ever in service
To the Dream, to Ansteorra, and to the Chirurgeonate
