[Anst-dancers] Fw: [SCA-Dance] Notes from the Future of KWDS meeting

I, personally, would like some instruction on beginning reconstructing -
perhaps, even some discussion of the Italian phrases one encounters in the
sources - basically, a how-to-reconstruct Italian dances for the non-Italian

Along the same lines, memory tricks for remembering various Italian dances
would be useful as both a dancer and a teacher.

If we cannot add an extra day to have professionals come to teach, then I
think doing so on Friday is an excellent option. I'd prefer to be fresh for
any intensive classes.

I think that most teachers have done a pretty decent job indicating whether
some pre-requisite knowledge was required for their class, so I'm not sure
designating leveled tracks is necessary. Likewise, self-indicating a level
for myself truly depends on the style of dance and sometimes, even on the
dance itself.

Hi all,
So here are some questions for you.

Would it help if the registration process asked for self declared level of

Where is the hole in your knowledge - what do you want to learn?

>From whom do you want to learn something?

do you have contacts in the dance world of non-SCA scholars of music or
dance that we can contact?

In previous events, they have tried not to designate beginner, novice,
intermediate, advanced labels. Would it be helpful to specify some classes
as such?

It may be difficult to extend the event a day early but would it make sense
since Friday tends to be lighter to try and incorporate an intensive track
on Fri?

These same questions are to be posted to the SCA musicians groups that I
know of. Feel free to pass them about. While I can't possibly make
everyone happy, I want everyone to come away with great ideas.
