When I last asked a kem about this, (Sir John) I was told that it was not legal, due to the fact that it does not allow the rattan's natural flex to occur.

Take a synthetic rawhide bone (large), soak it until it's pliable, wrap it around your sword and trim it to fit, stitch up the seam, and done. It's a regular rattan sword with a single layer of rawhide wrapped around it. > On Feb 17, 2016, at 15:43, Derryk Carr <wyzdman at gmail.com> wrote:> > I had not heard of this, but would be interested in see if they worked and> how we would work thrusting tips with them.> > On Wed, Feb 17, 2016 at 3:23 PM, Elfsea Marshal <> marshal at elfsea.ansteorra.org> wrote:> >> They have been in use by His Majesty Creppin, His Grace Sven, and His>> Grace Sven's squires for a long time.
