For what it's worth, I see the concern for identifying if rawhide is rigid or not, but I think the main point here is 1. if used, should we consider such weapons experimental?

To answer the question, I think a few things need to be determined. Is there a minimum thickness of rawhide that can effectively be used to cover a weapon without being considered 1. Rigid or 2. Without "significantly altering flexibility". My gut says yes, we can find and define a maximum rawhide thickness that meets both standards. If we did the testing and found that magic combination, then I feel they should be allowed as standard weapons without going through an experiment. For the record, I'm suggesting a thickness of rawhide that could not stand up to being equivalent to rigid material as the rules define them. I doubt I'd trust rawhide as thin as 1/16 inch to protect my joints, so there's a possible starting point.

On the other hand, it's not that much more work to just emolument an experiment.

Gassion,
Who thinks we need a 11oz leather thrusting tip experiment too.
