Greetings!

I'm hosting a special woods battle at Pennsic on Thursday the 18th, starting
at 3pm. It's listed as wednesday, but it's been moved to Thursday, so I can
go support my rapier champions (on weds). The Pennsic site and site booklet
should be corrected soon.  It's planned to be a 2 hour resurrection.. all
authorized heavy fighters are welcome to come out and fight.

I grew up doing resurrection fights in the woods and I strongly believe they
are great fun. Trees provide extra shielding for all fighters and make it a
bit harder for a fighter with a bow to target at a distance. For those of us
with early personas, it's way cool.  I love combat archery in the woods.
Please encourage your fighters (all of them) to come out and play. Many
fighters have never seen or done CA in the woods and don't realize how much
fun it is or how different it makes the battle. It is my hope that everyone
who comes out will have a good, perhaps great time. If the battle goes well,
it means it's more likely we can have it again next year.

This is not for a war point, it's just for fun. The intention is to give
those of us who enjoy melees another opportunity to fight (grin), when the
temperature should be a bit cooler. The goal is to have lots of fun and tons
of fighting, so depending on how many people show up, We may move the
resurrection points in a bit (less walking).

Please spread the word and encourage your fellow fighters to come out. I
will need help.. marshals to inspect and marshal during the battle. We will
be getting a bunch of water dropped up at the woods, I just need to make
certain we have enough water bearers to carry it. We need people to help
waterbear and a crew to help walk thru after the battle to sweep for
missiles,etc. Actually, if we all walk thru at the same time, it would make
a sweep pretty easy, just pick up all missiles that you see. If I can.. I
would love to get 2 carts (or more), one for the center of the woods and one
for the south? side (side closest to the main battlefield). Then everyone
could just pile all of the missiles/gear in the carts.. and we could
seperate and inspect them for the following day's battle.. in the shade, all
together.. If anyone has a cart that they would be willing to loan for the
battle, please let me know.

If anyone has any suggestions or would like to help, please let me know. I
hope to see many of you on Thursday.
